At Indian Matric Higher Secondary School (IMS), we follow a Tri-Semester System paired with the Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) Pattern for classes I to VII. This system ensures that students are continuously assessed and receive comprehensive feedback on their academic progress.
Formative Assessment is an ongoing process that occurs during the course of learning. It is designed to monitor student progress and provide timely feedback, enabling both students and teachers to identify areas of improvement and strengths.
Daily assessments include various activities and slip tests conducted in the classroom.
Activities may involve quizzes, oral presentations, projects, class participation, and other interactive methods.
Formative Assessment constitutes 40 marks of the total evaluation for each subject.
Since it is continuous, students are assessed every day, encouraging consistent engagement and effort.
Summative Assessment evaluates the student’s comprehensive understanding and mastery of the subject matter at the end of each term.
Written examinations are conducted at the end of each term to assess the knowledge and skills acquired during that period.
Summative Assessment constitutes 60 marks of the total evaluation for each subject.
The assessments focus on the specific portions covered within the term, ensuring a focused and in-depth understanding of each segment.

At *Indian Matric Higher Secondary School (IMS)*, we believe in nurturing the holistic development of our students by fostering self-discipline, self-governance, and team spirit. To achieve this, we have established a house system that organizes students into four houses, each named after a prominent river, symbolizing the flow of knowledge and growth.
Each house is a micro-community within the school, where students learn to work collaboratively, develop leadership skills, and foster a sense of belonging.
The house system encourages students to take responsibility for their actions and develop self-discipline. It also provides opportunities for students to practice self-governance by taking on leadership roles within their houses.
Through participation in house activities, students develop a strong sense of team spirit. They learn to support their peers, work together towards common goals, and compete in a healthy and constructive manner.
Students are encouraged to participate in diverse activities that cater to their individual talents and aptitudes. Whether in sports, arts, academics, or other areas, these activities help students refine their skills and explore new interests.
By engaging in structured activities, students learn the importance of discipline, time management, and organization, essential qualities for their future success.
To further promote a spirit of healthy competition and camaraderie, IMS conducts various inter-house competitions throughout the year. These competitions, overseen by the Principal and House Coordinators, provide students with opportunities to showcase their talents, gain confidence, and earn recognition for their achievements. The activities range from sports and games to cultural and academic events, ensuring a well-rounded development experience.
Through our house system and co-curricular programs, IMS strives to create an environment where students can thrive, grow, and become disciplined, organized, and well-rounded individuals. We encourage all students to actively participate in house activities and competitions, as these experiences are invaluable in their personal and academic growth. For more information on specific activities and the house system, please contact the school's extracurricular office.
At *Indian Matric Higher Secondary School (IMS)*, we encourage students to participate in a wide range of co-curricular and extracurricular activities through our house system. These activities are not only an avenue for developing talents and skills but also foster a spirit of healthy competition among students.
Each house is organized into different groups based on class levels:The house system encourages students to take responsibility for their actions and develop self-discipline. It also provides opportunities for students to practice self-governance by taking on leadership roles within their houses.
Competitions are conducted on an inter-house basis across various co-curricular and extracurricular activities. These competitions provide students with opportunities to showcase their skills, talents, and sportsmanship.
Each house is led by a House Master or House Mistress, along with a captain and vice-captain. These leaders are responsible for organizing and motivating their house members to participate actively in all events.
Marks are allotted for each activity based on performance. These marks are consolidated at the end of the academic year to determine the overall standing of each house.
The house with the highest consolidated score across all activities is awarded the *Overall Championship Trophy*. This prestigious award recognizes the house's excellence in both co-curricular and extracurricular domains.
In addition to the Overall Championship, special trophies are awarded:
Rolling Trophy for Sports & Games: This trophy is awarded to the house that excels in sports and games competitions throughout the year.
Scholastic and Co-Scholastic Activities Trophies: These trophies recognize outstanding performance in academic and other non-sporting activities. The awards are presented during the Annual Day celebrations.
