Course of Study

Tri-Semester System

The academic curriculum is divided into three terms, with each term covering distinct portions of the syllabus. This system prevents the carryover of content from one term to the next, allowing for focused study and thorough comprehension.

CCE Pattern

The Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system integrates both Formative and Summative Assessments. This comprehensive approach evaluates students not only on academic skills but also on a range of cognitive and non-cognitive abilities.

Grading and Evaluation

Final Grades

Students’ final grades are determined by combining the scores from both Formative and Summative Assessments. This combined assessment provides a holistic view of the student’s performance throughout the academic year.

IMS's evaluation system aims to create a balanced and inclusive approach to student assessment, promoting both academic excellence and overall development. By providing continuous feedback through Formative Assessments and comprehensive evaluations through Summative Assessments, we ensure that students are well-prepared and supported in their educational journey.

Extra and Remedial Classes

Indian Matric Higher Secondary School (IMS) is dedicated to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to achieve academic success. To support this goal, we offer *Extra Classes* and *Remedial Classes* for students who require additional instruction or assistance in specific subjects.

Extra Classes

Purpose and Schedule

Extra classes are conducted during or after regular school hours to provide students with extended learning opportunities. These classes may cover advanced topics, provide additional practice, or reinforce lessons taught in the classroom.

Attendance

Attendance in extra classes is highly encouraged as they are designed to enhance students' understanding and mastery of the subject matter.

Remedial Classes

Target Group and Objective

Remedial classes are specifically organized for students who need extra support to keep up with their coursework. These sessions aim to help learners overcome academic challenges and improve their performance.

Schedule and Notification

Remedial classes are held after regular school hours. Parents and students will receive prior notice about the schedule and subjects covered. This allows families to plan accordingly and ensure the student's participation.

Mandatory Attendance

Attendance in remedial classes is compulsory for the students identified as needing additional support. These sessions are an essential component of our commitment to providing individualized attention and helping all students succeed.

IMS is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive educational environment. Extra and remedial classes are key elements of our academic support system, designed to cater to the diverse learning needs of our students. We encourage parents and students to take full advantage of these resources to enhance their academic growth and development. For any questions or further information regarding these classes, please contact the school's academic office.

Attendance Requirements

Indian Matric Higher Secondary School (IMS) places great importance on regular attendance, as consistent participation in school activities is crucial for the academic and personal development of students. The following guidelines outline the school's attendance requirements and the implications for students who fail to meet these standards:

Attendance Criteria

  • Minimum Attendance Requirement: Students must maintain a minimum of **85% attendance* of the total working days in the academic year. This requirement is applicable to all students, including those transferring from other schools.
  • Transfer Cases: For students who transfer to IMS during the academic year, the attendance record from their previous school will be considered. The combined attendance from both schools must meet the 85% requirement.

Consequences of Insufficient Attendance

  • Eligibility for Final Examinations: Students who do not meet the minimum attendance requirement of 85% will not be permitted to sit for the final examinations. This policy ensures that students have adequately participated in the learning process and are prepared for the assessments.
  • Monitoring and Support: The school administration will regularly monitor student attendance. Parents will be notified if a student's attendance falls below the required level, and appropriate measures will be taken to address any issues. This may include counseling or interventions to improve attendance.

Special Considerations

  • Excused Absences: In cases of medical emergencies or other valid reasons, parents are required to submit a written application along with relevant documents, such as medical certificates, to the school office. These absences will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may not count against the 85% requirement, subject to school policy.
  • Parental Responsibility: Parents are encouraged to ensure that their children attend school regularly and to communicate with the school regarding any absences. Regular attendance is a key factor in academic success and overall development.

IMS is committed to fostering a disciplined and supportive learning environment. By adhering to these attendance requirements, students can maximize their educational experience and achieve their full potential. For any questions or concerns regarding attendance policies, please contact the school's administrative office.

Conditions and Requirements

IMS is committed to facilitating a smooth transition for students moving to other institutions. We encourage parents to adhere to the specified guidelines to avoid any inconvenience. For further assistance or clarification regarding the issuance of Transfer Certificates, please contact the school's administrative office.

Parent-Teacher Cooperation

*Indian Matric Higher Secondary School (IMS)* values the crucial role of parent-teacher cooperation in fostering the complete and harmonious development of each child's personality. We believe that a strong partnership between parents and teachers is essential for the holistic growth of students. To facilitate this, we have established several guidelines and opportunities for effective communication and collaboration.

Parents Teacher Meetings (PTMs)

  • Importance of Attendance: We strongly encourage all parents to attend the scheduled Parents Teacher Meetings. These meetings provide a valuable opportunity for parents to discuss their child's progress, understand their strengths and areas for improvement, and collaborate with teachers to enhance the learning experience.

  • Opportunity for Feedback: PTMs are also an opportunity for parents to provide feedback and suggestions to the school, helping us continuously improve our educational services.
